A contemporary Russian spiritual song is matched with Russian religious art of the early 20th century. Most of the works are by Mikhail Nesterov and Pavel Korin. Mr Korin was active during the times of the communist repressions and his portraits of clergy and monastics are the depictions of martyrs. The final image, "The Mighty Saviour" by Natalia Goncharova, is one of my favourite Russian religious artworks. It has a primitive and visceral power that simply stuns one, don't you agree?
